Advocacy Inspiration:

Advocacy can take many forms – here are some ideas for inspiration:

  • Contact your local, state, and/or federal representatives to share your Nitrate Watch findings and let them know that nitrate pollution is an issue they must prioritize.
  • Write a letter to the editor or an op-ed in your local paper to raise awareness about the sources and impacts of nitrate pollution.
  • Spread the word within your community
    • Create a post on social media sharing your data or your concerns about nitrate pollution
    • Share Nitrate Watch fact sheets in a public space such as a library, farmers market, or school
  • Get creative!
    • Advocacy, by definition, is “the support or recommendation of a particular cause or policy.” This can mean many different things. Feel free to break the mold and let us know about other creative ways you are advocating for the reduction of nitrate pollution.
