Nitrate Pollution Awareness Week: Monitor

Monitor

Request a free Nitrate Watch kit and start monitoring the nitrate in the water that is important to you.

Across the country, hundreds of volunteers are taking part in Nitrate Watch by documenting the nitrate levels in the waterways they care about and the drinking water they depend on. You can join them!

Each Nitrate Watch kit includes a bottle of 25 nitrate-N test strips and postcards explaining how to use your test strips and how to share your results on the Clean Water Hub database.

Share & Explore Data

The Clean Water Hub is a collaborative tool to help volunteers and organizations track water quality in streams, lakes, and drinking water. It’s a place to share and visualize local data and contribute to a nationwide water monitoring network.

Not collecting data yet? You can still visit the Hub to see water quality information, including Nitrate Watch results, in your community.

The Nitrate Watch map (right) is also featured on the Clean Water Hub. It provides and up-to-date look at nitrate levels reported by volunteers nationwide.

View the latest Nitrate Watch annual report, where we analyze the results shared by volunteers across the United States and zoom in on regions reporting a high volume of data.
