Making a planned gift to the League is easy and allows you to leave a lasting legacy. You determine an amount, percentage, or specific assets (real or personal) you wish to give from your estate.
You can use the following sample bequest language in your will:
I hereby give and bequeath ______ to the Izaak Walton League of America (IWLA), a nonprofit membership organization incorporated by the laws of the State of Illinois, having as its principal address 707 Conservation Lane, Gaithersburg, Maryland 20878-2983, to be used for IWLA for its general use and purposes.
In the blank, you may wish to enter:
- A specific asset that you wish to gift to the League
- "the sum of $___"
- "___% of my estate"
- "all of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate, both real and personal property of whatever kind and wherever situated, which I may own or have the right to dispose of at the time of my death"
For planned gifts to the Izaak Walton League Trust, add the following to the end of the above language:
and I further direct that this bequest be restricted for the Izaak Walton League Trust, a permanent endowment created by and for the benefit of the IWLA.
You should consult with your legal and financial advisors when considering any planned gift.
Thank you for considering the Izaak Walton League in your final plans!
