Dwight Lydell

The Dwight Lydell Chapter was formed in 1926. We have a 39-acre property with a small stream running through it and a pond that we stock for kids fishing programs (catch and release). We have two major events for elementary school age children: Summerfest offers Stream Search to help kids understand how to determine the health of a stream by the kinds of insects found. Other activities include fishing, kayaking, archery, and identification of plants and animals. Then we have Winterfest, which offers ice fishing, archery, skating, skiing, survival shelters, and more outdoor fun. Some of our members take part in community programs for water conservation, stream restoration, and the Great Lakes Clean Water Initiative. Overnight camping on the property is available to members, and the club house is available for member events such as wedding receptions and graduation parties. Our website offers slide shows of chapter events as well as a property tour.
