We maintain the Ikes Park, located on the Hennepin Canal, for picnics, fishing, and camping, including a boat ramp, handicapped-accessible fishing dock, and lodge for community and visitor use. Yearly we sponsor a youth Fishing Rodeo and Outdoor Adventure that includes an Illinois Department of Natural Resources wildlife museum and BB gun and archery ranges. We also support Girl Scout and Ladders to Learning fishing at the park. Our focus is to get youth energized about the outdoors. We hold a Public Ice Fishing Tourney, two club fish fries, two club breakfasts, and a public ham and bean soup dinner yearly. Monthly meetings are held the second Monday of the month at 7:00 PM that include refreshments and a guest speaker on an outdoor-related topic.
Your kit will include a bottle containing 25 nitrate test strips which you can use to test your water source(s) throughout the year. You’ll also receive postcards explaining how to use your nitrate test strips and how to share your Nitrate Watch results on the Clean Water Hub.
