Mangrove
The Mangrove Chapter holds an annual picnic in February for members, visitors, national park leaders, and state and local leaders for good food and a review of local issues. Topics have included Everglades National Park, a Biscayne Bay “no take zone” for fishing and diving, state water issues for Everglades National Park, the Crandon Parks at Key Biscayne Master Plan for the expansion of the tennis complex, and the Virginia Key for the master plan in Miami. We are working as a group to protect these parks from development. We also encourage the state of Florida to buy more land to protect Everglades National Parks and are working to reduce the density in the Florida Keys.
Your kit will include a bottle containing 25 nitrate test strips which you can use to test your water source(s) throughout the year. You’ll also receive postcards explaining how to use your nitrate test strips and how to share your Nitrate Watch results on the Clean Water Hub.
Your kit will include four test strips so you can test your waterway throughout the season. You’ll also receive a chart to help you interpret your results and a postcard with instructions for completing a Salt Watch test and reporting your findings.
