Tiny Ikes

Unstructured outdoor play makes children smarter, more cooperative, happier, and healthier. What’s not to love?

The mission of our Tiny Ikes program – or T’Ikes, as we call it – is to encourage independent and imaginative nature play among pre-school children and connect them more deeply with nature. We have a pilot program at the League’s national headquarters in Gaithersburg, Maryland, and are working with our chapters to start T’Ikes programs in other areas.

You can also do it yourself at home! It’s easier than you might think. Just head outside with a shovel or a kid-proof camera and let your pre-schooler lead the way.
